Summer Tournaments 2010
Here comes the summer (hopefully a warm one).
MK City and our family of clubs have many invites to play in ourdoor tournaments. These are great fun. We get to play 7 or 8 short matches against opposition from around the country and abroad. The tournaments are pretty relaxed but give a great chance to learn from and compete against some top players. We get to sit around in the sun, eat Haribo and allsorts, sing a few songs and gossip. In the evening there is usually a bbq and a party.
We will decide which tournaments we attend at a committee meeting in the next few weeks and then start signing people up. If you have a preference speak to your club captain or coach or a committee member.

Cameron Helps England to 4th Spot at the U16 World Cup
MKX player Cameron played for England at the U16 World Cup 20th/21st March 2010 in Eindhoven.
The young team eventually finished a creditable 4th place with some strong perfomances, but unfortunately some narrow defeats.
England beat Russia (8-6) and South Africa (10-6) before a narrow loss to Chinese Taipei (14-11) but finished top of their group before moving to the play off pol. Here England beat Catalonia (12-9)before a one goal loss to Taipei again and finally a golden goal loss to Russia left them 4th.
Cameron had limited court time but did score against South Africa and learned loads and enjoyed himself greatly. Cameron also played and scored in a warm up friendly v South Africa on 18th and in a match v one of the Dutch regional sides on 19th March.
Cameron has been playing korfball for little more than two years and is now travelling the world with England. MKX team mate Chelsie Brown has also played with England this season. The possibility is there for other young, talented MKX players.
We now run U11 and U16 teams that train every Thursday at Courtside, MK College in Bletchley. If you start now, maybe you could play for England too!
MK City Closes In On OKA2 Title With Close Win Over Oxford City
Another away trip to Oxford saw MK City having to fight very hard again for an important win over second place Oxford City 2.
This top of the table clash had been long anticipated but with two key girls missing from the MK City line up it was time to go to our clubs and call up some quality replacement.
The final score was MK City 8 - 7 Oxford City 2. The game ebbed and flowed. MK City fought hard (conceding 12 free passes and a penalty - Oxford conceded no free passes or penalties! - very disciplined).
